Halloween is upon us!
Okay, so it’s not Halloween yet. But this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and originally created by The Broke and the Bookish, is a Halloween Freebie! Which means I can do anything I like!
Including murder!
Okay, maybe not murder.
I mean it would be seasonally appropriate, but still, no murders.
How about this nice Adams Family gif instead?
But what shall I do with this week’s freebie? Honestly?
My top ten favorite Halloween things!
Here we go!
Pumpkin Spice Tea

This tea by Harney and Sons is one of my favorite seasonal blends by them. I’m not saying I bought three tins of this seasonal delight, but that’s exactly what I’m saying. And since it’s decaffeinated I can drink a mug full before bed and still go to sleep! Also, it is so tasty.
The Addams Family
New, old, animated, comic strip, or musical. It doesn’t matter. I’ll take this happily married family of weirdos over the cast of Friends any day of the week. And who didn’t want to be Morticia Addams when they grew up?
The Nightmare Before Christmas
This one goes without saying right? So what if I watch it year-round and don’t care that it’s a Halloween to Christmas movie? Also, fun fact, though this movie is billed as Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton didn’t write, direct, or have any kind of starring role in this movie. He produced it, wrote the original poem, and did some of the early character designs, but the real credit for this movie goes to Henry Selick, director, and Caroline Thompson, screenplay. Also Danny Elfman, lyrics.
Hocus Pocus
Does anyone else watch it just to hear the Sanderson Sisters sing I Put A Spell on You? Or is that just me? Either way, this movie is fire. And I’m old enough to have seen it in theaters when it first came out!
Dragula by Rob Zombie
I’m not gonna lie, this is a year-long song for me, but it always seems to be played on the radio that much more during Halloween times. That and Living Dead Girl by the same artist. Also, he went from music artist to Hollywood horror director…so.
My Own Halloween Decor

I love all my Halloween decorations. Skulls and pumpkins and owls! This was on my floor three years ago. I love decorating! It’s not a problem I swear!
12 Ft Skeletons

These poseable friends with LED eyes are some of the greatest Halloween decor options to ever grace the streets. One of my neighbors has three of them. Three! I’m not allowed to have one. But I will wear my husband down! Just you wait, I will get you yet, my pretty.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
I’ve seen this show in a theater so many times it’s not even funny. If you’ve never seen a production of the movie, where people act it out, there are costume contests, and the crowd has the inside lines, you should fix that. Yesterday. RHPS is one of those things that is just made of magic. And yes, it’s another year-round thing that I always make sure I watch at Halloween.
Trick or Treaters
Could they be any cuter? I mean, not the cast of That 70’s Show, but regular trick or treaters. I love seeing their costumes and handing out candy. Speaking of, I gotta go buy some of that, or I won’t be handing out much of anything on Sunday.
Thriller by Michael Jackson
Had to save the best for last. I love the music video, Michael Jackson’s singing, and Vincent Price’s narration. The whole thing is amazing. I also remember not being allowed to watch MTV in my house so we had to sneak over to my neighbor’s house to watch this every Halloween. It just added to the fun of watching it!
And there you have it, a top ten favorite Halloween things list. What are your Halloween favorites?
